Ko tā mātou mahi - Our Role

The Tax Manager plays an integral role within the Strategy, Finance and Policy Group, helping ensure the organisation has a strong understanding of tax issues and utilises that information to make informed decisions.

The Tax Manager provides expert counsel, support, advice, and challenge to Business Managers that adds value ensuring consequences regarding tax are widely understood and accurately reported.

The Tax Manager also ensures that taxation implications (both GST and income tax) are considered when making strategic business decisions.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu - What you will bring

  • Degree in Finance or Commerce (desirable)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of New Zealand taxation legislation and Inland Revenue Policy documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully influence key internal and external stakeholders and identify external issues which will impact business performance
  • Proven ability to think strategically and maintain strategic focus while operating across many functional areas in a constantly changing environment
  • Demonstrated leadership ability including proactive development, motivation and engagement of people, while empowering through delegation of decision making and accountability
  • Proven ability to challenge current thinking and to drive and enable continuous improvements
