Your responsibilities:

The Senior Tax Advisor role involves supporting the NZ Tax Manager with various tax responsibilities related to Mercer Funds in New Zealand, including tax compliance services, policy reviews, and collaboration with different teams within Mercer.

Key duties:

  • Provide guidance on direct and indirect tax compliance.
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors and review annual tax statements.
  • Ensure Funds' compliance with tax policies and risk management framework.
  • Participate in tax-related initiatives and projects.

Requirements:

  • Background in business, accounting, tax, or related fields; CA membership.
  • Strong technical knowledge of unit trusts, PIE's, and NZ tax policy.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Experience in building and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
