About the role:


As
Cloud Network and Security Consultant in the Enterprise Control Plane squad, you'll be part of our team that provides delivery and support of our cloud networking and security controls and features.

This involves looking after the day-to-day operational capabilities within the squads and investing in several fundamental services that underpin the technology stack at ASB.

Being part of the Engineering Practice at ASB we encourage our teams to work autonomously in an agile way while actively growing their skills and expertise to continuously improve outcomes for our customers.


You'll have the opportunity to get hands-on with some interesting and complex pieces of work that integrate on an enterprise scale, all while being part of an autonomous squad - your voice will be heard, and your opinions valued.

We advocate for T-Shaped teams which will take you through all facets of engineering in any given day.

We are looking for a mix of skills to support the following activities:

  • Build, run, maintain, and continuously improve our cloud networking and security controls and feature (Microsoft Azure), providing oncall support as required to resolve major incidents.
  • Support the standardsaligned cloud transformation of our network and security ecosystem through consulting, design, and migrating our systems to the cloud
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative environment within the teams you will work in.
  • Monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvements of our systems that run within Azure, Windows, Linux, etc

About you:

We are looking for an individual that will provide expertise on how cloud networking and security should be managed and is ready to be part of a transformative journey for our systems into the cloud.

You will work collaboratively with our squads and stakeholders to be the voice of engineering and deliver products that delight our customers.


We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in developing, implementing, or architecting enterprise networking and security solutions.
  • Experience with cloud security technologies such as Azure firewall and Check Point firewall especially in a cloud virtual appliance context.
  • Experience with Azure networking and Azure Express Route.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as code, and Azure DevOps.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills, including the ability to communicate and collaborate with senior stakeholders and other technology leaders.
  • The ability to be a passionate, selfstarter that can work on problems from inception to completion Able to influence and review High Level Solution designs for hybrid networking to promote sound strategy and meet best practice

In addition, the following would be advantageous but not necessary

  • Knowledge and experience with DDOS solutions.
  • Some proven network segmentation experience.
  • DLP and Network Threat Detection exposure.
