We are looking for an experienced Cyber Security professional to join ASB's Security Practice within Consultancy squad, responsible for cyber security advisory services. Our Security Practice helps to ensure ASB remains cyber-secure now and into the future, with a vision to make cyber security simple and easy for our customers and our people.

As a Cyber Security Consultant, you'll be key in supporting our business and technology teams by providing a broad range of Information Security consultancy services, including support of strategic planning, risk assessments and design, through to technical consultancy and coaching the tech team. In particular, we are seeking a consultant with broad cyber security capability, expertise, and experience across on-premise and Cloud technologies.

Specifically, you will:

  • Deliver a broad range of high-quality cyber consultancy services, such as risk assessments, threat modelling, formal reports, discussion documents or recommendations, support of cyber related issue and incident management, interaction with vendors and partners.
  • Ensure our cyber security advice and recommendations align with our organisation's Risk Appetite
  • Contribute to the creation, prioritisation and refinement of Cyber Security squad backlogs in collaboration with our primary stakeholders.
  • Support the professional development of cyber security consultancy squad members through knowledge sharing and peer training where I have expertise and experience.
  • Contribute cyber security expertise to wider technology strategic initiatives and planning.
  • Work collaboratively with a broad range of Technology, Cyber and Business stakeholders with focus on the delivery of great cyber security outcomes.
  • Seek to uplift cyber security knowledge and culture of all stakeholders.
  • Continue develop professionally, cultivating knowledge and technical skills relevant to current technologies.
  • Maintain awareness of current threats and the potential impact to ASB.

As a starter for success, you'll have some of the following skill and experience:

  • Broad cyber security capability, expertise, and experience across on-premise and Cloud technologies.
  • Ability to utilise this knowledge to support team members and stakeholders with high quality guidance and improved decision making.
  • Ability to think strategically with the 'big-picture' and future state in mind.
  • Ability to communicate complex cyber security considerations in terms of business outcomes that enables highly informed senior decision making.
  • The capability to converse with technical teams in their own language.
  • Ability to focus on areas of most cyber security interest or concern, so that collective efforts are geared to addressing and improving areas where they deliver most value or mitigate most risk.
  • Courage to challenge the status quo to help ensure cyber security outcomes are treated with appropriate focus and priority
