This role requires broad security experience, enthusiasm, and initiative. You will be a strong and credible voice for both security awareness and Open-Source Intelligence best practices, supporting our business and our clients, delivering, and enabling solutions across the security domain.

In this role you will be sitting within our Security and Risk team, focused on the delivery and support of persistent threat monitoring, targeted security intelligence collection and analysis tasks and wider business development and intelligence functions for external and internal customers. This role will offer you a diverse and interesting mix of work that spans over multiple projects with a variety of clients and industries. The projects you will be working across are critical and complex, with a key role focus on working with clients to define their requirements. You will have the opportunity to work across an end-to-end project life cycle with a focus on delivering client outcomes, building effective relationships and understanding the key commercial drivers across technology and software development, guiding projects to profitability while developing a culture of innovation.

The role will require you to:

  • Conduct client engagement to fully understand security and threat collection and analysis requirements, converting those requirements into detailed collection tasking
  • Direct and co-ordinate collection activities between vendor-provided and in-house analysis resources
  • Conduct online research using advanced OSINT and social media collection and analysis techniques
  • Collate, evaluate, analyse, integrate and interpret findings to augment and support ongoing protective security and persistent threat monitoring efforts
  • Produce security intelligence assessments and briefings to customers, providing tripwire reporting based on indicators and warnings that challenge current threat postures.
  • Provide consultation on how to leverage OSINT data and information and consult on the development of the Beca OSINT capability.
  • Deliver a range of physical security services to our clients
  • Develop new services and help bring them to market.

This role can be based in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch

  • Five years of relevant experience.
  • Practical knowledge of open-source intelligence collection and threat analysis.
  • Knowledge of advanced Internet-based research, including Boolean logic, advanced research techniques, search engine and database resources, and Internet sources, including social media, social networking tools, and commercial and industry-based databases.
  • Experience in directing, collecting, and analysing information in order to produce timely and actionable security threat intelligence.
  • Ability to prepare concise written reports with strong attention to detail.
  • Practical knowledge of the deep and dark web threat landscape preferable.
  • Willingness to develop a broader range of Protective Security Skill to assist the wider team as required.
  • Confidence in working with Stakeholders and clients
