Senior Planner (Waikato - remote)

A reputable planning consultancy is seeking a skilled and experienced Planner to join their team in Hamilton.

The primary objective of this role is to strengthen and expand the planning presence in the Bay of Plenty and Waikato regions, with a specific focus on Waikato.

The senior planning professional will provide high-quality technical planning skills to a variety of land development projects and offer expert advice on council and resource management requirements.

Building positive relationships with clients to support and deliver project outcomes will be crucial. Additionally, the Planner will assist Partners/Principals with planning and development assessments, feasibilities, and new business development.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide highquality planning advice and consent assistance for land development projects.
  • Represent clients in Councilrelated hearings and activities.
  • Manage the endtoend consent process with Council and relevant parties.
  • Conduct due diligence and scoping reports for site purchases or developments.
  • Offer planning expertise and consultation for new client inquiries and project opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to provide planning and resource consent advice aligned with project objectives and deadlines.
  • Assist Directors with planning assessments, feasibilities, and new business development.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, legislation, and development codes.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about planning and regulation changes, identifying business development opportunities.
  • Uphold health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Undertake other rolerelated duties as assigned.
