We are a newly established team within the Ministry of Education, dedicated to driving positive change in the education landscape.

As part of our commitment to better outcomes for all students, we're searching for a Lead Adviser - Impact to join our team.

This role will play a pivotal part in crafting strategies, providing insights, and making recommendations that will shape the future of education in New Zealand.


Your Role:


As the Lead Adviser - Impact, you will collaborate closely with our Manager, Strategy & Innovation, and work within a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about making a difference.

Your role involves understanding complex educational challenges, analysing data and evidence, and transforming them into actionable recommendations that will drive positive change.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement crosscutting education strategies.
  • Analyse data, identify trends, and provide evidencebased insights.
  • Craft comprehensive briefing notes for key stakeholders and decisionmakers.
  • Contribute to the ongoing transformation of the education system by proposing improvements and innovative solutions.
  • Engage with internal teams to ensure coherence across various curriculum segments.

  • Exceptional reading and writing abilities, with a keen eye for detail and quality.
  • A willingness to learn and operate within a te ao Māori environment.
