We work to shape an education system that delivers equitable and excellent outcomes

Our organisation is made up of talented and committed people around Aotearoa, from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures.

While we work in different groups and on different things, we all strive every day to make the biggest difference we can for our ākonga in our education system.

We are committed to having Te Tiriti o Waitangi at the forefront of our work for and with Māori students, their whānau, hapū and iwi.

Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role

Te Marautanga o Aotearoa is being redesigned to reflect a more indigenous curriculum, grounded in te ao Māori, based on the conceptual framework Te Tamaiti Hei Raukura.

The framework stems from a Māori world view and reflects the values of Māori society and what whānau want for their children as Māori, and as global citizens.

It places ākonga at the centre of learning while recognising their place as mokopuna and ancestors for the future.
The Lead Adviser will play a key role in this work by leading substantial and complex initiatives that support the redesign of Te Marautanga o Aotearoa, including the preparation of curriculum content and supporting material, and supporting kura and kaiako to understand and prepare for change,

The Lead Adviser informs and, as appropriate, designs rich and responsive initiatives that focus on strengthening capability of teachers to help learners develop the competencies they need for study, work and life-long learning.

The Lead Adviser ensures best practice pedagogy is used to inform quality initiative design, development, delivery and measurement.
