Power Technician

The role
Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical management and delivery of high voltage substation works safely, positively, effectively and efficiently
You will also:
- Provide ongoing technical support, scoping and planning for all works
- Conduct inspections and perform preventative maintenance on strategic assets like protection relays and circuit breakers
- Provide technical input and scoping requirements to assist with the estimation of maintenance and capital works

Who we're looking for
To secure this role, you'll hold a current practising licence along with strong knowledge of relevant Codes of Practice, Policies, Standards, Work Procedures
You will also have:
- Experience in high voltage zone substations and proven track record around testing protections devices, maintenance, inspection regime tasks
- Demonstrated experience working on 11kV and above transformers, circuit breakers, DC battery systems and SCADA communication assets
- A full and clean NZ class 1 driver's licence
- Ability to display initiate and willingness to be part of a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with basic technology knowledge
