About the role
Support the reliable and effective operation of the electricity distribution network and associated substations, by providing technical services for repairs, maintenance, and construction.
The person best suited to this position will be a skilled trades person and have a professional approach to customer service.
Responsibilities
- Analyse and repair network protection and control systems
- Respond to and repair network faults by participating in a 24hour callout roster
- Maintain and operate the HV Test Bay, including statutory sixmonthly testing of assets and equipment
- Develop and maintain test procedures for new and existing field devices
- Undertake control panel construction, wiring, and commission
- Assist in maintaining the data credibility of the network
- Contribute to overall performance and development of the unit
- Acceptance testing and commissioning of substation, ground mount and pole top devices
Skills and experience
- Registered Electrician / Power Technician with a Technical Certificate / NZCE or equivalent
- Experience in testing and commissioning substations, overhead and underground field devices
- Electrical industry knowledge
- Advanced computer skills
- Experience in protection relays and control systems
- Demonstrate an uncompromising commitment to workplace safety
