The Role


As a Technical Lead, you will manage and grow the capabilities of our technical team, providing technical direction and setting the standards for code quality and the technical expertise of the team.

This is a hands-on role where you will be expected to contribute development time whilst leading your team and inspiring them to reach their goals.

You will work closely with our Head of Technology, to set our standards and build processes, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction as well as business unit productivity and profitability.

To be successful in this role, you will be a leader who is passionate about web technologies, has an interest in eCommerce and is excited to grow our business while contributing to the success of our partners

  • Keep up to date with industry trends, new platforms and technologies and share your knowledge with our internal teams
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of company's code standards, DevOps processes and component productisation
  • Produce highquality, maintainable, tested code using established frameworks, and common design patterns
  • Manage code reviews and code quality and provide assistance and support to other developers
  • Provide escalation support, coaching and mentoring to other team members, individually and collectively to improve their skills, understand the strategy, refine ways of working, and set internal customer expectations.
  • Review and contribute to sales proposals, solutions, and business requirements documents from a technical point of view
  • Leads delivery for key projects or tasks that support the Technical Services program of work.
  • Be accountable for the accuracy of developer time and cost estimates and contribute to solutions Developing an agencyfirst mentality in highlighting scope creep. Ensuring that any overages are addressed with Delivery Managers to resolve them in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Understands risk management profile and implements mitigations within the Tech team
  • Builds internal and external networks to gain insights into issues and developments within the industry.
  • Understand the core technical requirements of our clients and advise our Sales and Delivery teams on meeting those requirements
  • Fulfil an agreed number of developer hours
  • May have management responsibilities for a small number of direct reports.

Position Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in computer science, engineering, or a related field and/ or significant industry experience working in an IT service or operations environment, including lead responsibility on projects and delivery. (5+years)
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of Shopify and BigCommerce SaaS platforms including building and launching stores, configuring thirdparty apps and migrating data
  • Thorough understanding and commercial experience with modern JavaScript frameworks and demonstrable experience with Python, PHP or other highlevel languages such as Java, and C#.
  • Deep understanding of and expertise in AWS or other cloud platforms, CI/CD procedures, and contemporary development techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead people, teams, or projects multiple times in different contexts.
  • Strong ability to analyse and interpret business needs and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Strong customercentric and knowledgesharing mindset.
  • Thorough understanding of software delivery lifecycle and Agile methodology
  • Excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain sustainable relationships with people at all levels through, forging useful partnerships across different business groups.
  • Displays honesty, openness, fairness, transparency and integrity in line with the company's values
