This nurse coordinator role is being newly established as the Consultation Liaison team enters a period of service development and expansion.
This role coordinates systems, people and resources to ensure service delivery is effective and efficient. There is also a clinical component including patient facing mental health care in the Waikato Hospital setting. The nurse coordinator reports to the charge nurse manager.Click here to view the position description.

The Consultation Liaison (CL) psychiatry team is a specialist team of mental health medical and nursing staff with a high level of clinical expertise, providing a consultation liaison service to general Hospital patients and medical staff.
Mōu | About youRequired skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:
Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Experienced mental health nurse with a good understanding of medical co-morbidities
Good understanding of the Mental Health Act. Previous or current experience as a Duly Authorised Officer would be beneficial
Well developed mental health and risk assessment skills, the ability to plan and deliver patient care within a nursing framework
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within the consult liaison team, wider mental health service, Hospital service and community service
Providing education to colleagues is part of this role, so experience with teaching and sharing knowledge, would be an asset
Proficient verbal and written communication, including computer literacy is essential
