Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity


This is a new position which requires someone who is up for a challenge and prepared to assist with the set-up and development of the procedure room to meet demand.

This will include working with inventory & distribution, information services and other support services.


You will be responsible for the coordination and management of the procedure room to ensure efficient use of resources to support treatment and flow of patients.

This could be an opportunity to broaden your nursing skills across a variety of different surgical specialties. However previous surgical experience and specifically burns experience would be advantageous.

Our procedure room will be an extension of Ward M07 and complete complex burns dressings and other procedures currently being undertaken on inpatient wards.

This could include Incision and drainage, complex dressings and other simple procedures under local sedation.

Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- registration with the NZ Nursing Council and a current Annual Practising Certificate;

  • At least 5 years previous experience in an acute hospital setting.
- be a team player who is flexible with a positive attitude
- have the ability to effectively coordinate and lead a team to meet patient needs

  • Organised and adaptable, knowledge of iPM
  • Previous surgical nursing/burns experience
