SSU is responsible for the cleaning, packing and sterilisation of reusable medical devices for our customers. This includes theatres and, community Health and external customers.

  • Dealing with the customer on a day to day basis

  • Skills and experience you'll need to be considered for the role:
  • Experience in a Sterilising Unit is preferred but not essentials-
  • L3/4 Sterilising Certificate or will work towards gaining-
  • Good computer skills-
  • Excellent communication skills-
  • Self-motivated and trustworthy

  • Sterilising Units are the heart of the hospital; our hands hold the commitment of excellence. We provide sterile equipment for 23 operating theatres plus district nurses and our external customers. We are a great team of 65 staff, who all take the role of Technicians seriously but also know how to laugh. This department decontaminates and disinfects instruments; wraps sets and sterilises instruments for theatres to use, and checks the correct operation of instruments and complicated sets prior to use by surgeons.
