He angitūtanga | About the role

Our Creative Services team is seeking a motivated and dedicated Production Coordinator to support with a diverse range of tasks and projects.

The Creative Services team supports DOC with publishing activities nationwide.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to get into the industry with our team supporting you every step of the way.


The position will be focussed on:

  • managing incoming publishing requests and queries from across DOC
- coordinating the Creative Services print programme, including scheduling, quoting and pre-press production support
- providing design and/or editorial support, including undertaking small jobs, creating web-friendly PDFs, and ensuring files (e.g. Word, InDesign) are 'print ready'
- facilitating external contractor workflow
- working collaboratively with individuals and teams across DOC.

If you have the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you:

  • Sound knowledge of publication design and production processes with knowledge and experience in aspects of print and digital publishing.
  • Print production skills including file setup and proof checking.
  • Confident operator of graphic design software.
  • Strong customer service skills, able to provide trusted support and advice.
  • Interacts productively with a wide range of people.
  • Works effectively with peers to solve problems, gains trust easily and provides support.
  • Plans and organises work to deliver on objectives.
  • Comfortable working in a highvolume service team environment.
  • High personal and professional standards and accuracy.
  • A Graduate Diploma in Publishing or equivalent qualification or experience

The salary range for this position is $66,535 to $83,906 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory - this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
