We have an opportunity for a Portfolio Manager to join the Northern Region Mentally Well commissioning team. In this role you will support and implement the Kia Ora Ake approach for Counties Manukau District.

Working in partnership with Te Aka Whai Ora, Mana Whenua i Taamaki Makaurau (MWiTM), whaanau, communities, schools and kura Maaori.


Kia Ora Ake is a locally co-designed approach for tamariki in Counties Manukau and is part of the national Mana Ake programme.

Mana Ake is a national school based holistic wellbeing approach providing support to primary and intermediate school aged tamariki, their whaanau and schools.


In this role you will be reporting to our Mental Health and Addictions Funding General Manager in the first instance, and working closely with our service and community.

You will have responsibility to work as part of a team to manage and support the end-to-end Kia Ora Ake operations.

You will have strong stakeholder management skills and assist in the design of support functions for service delivery. This is a part time position, working 24 hours a week Monday to Friday based in Manukau. Hours and days are negotiable.

To be successful in this role you will need to have;

  • Knowledge and experience of current Mental Health & Addictions sector requirements and planned changes.
  • Experience in service improvement and project management
  • Experience in change management and at least 5 years health experience
  • Excellent relationship building and management skills
