  • The Business Intelligence team serves as the backbone for analytics, data science, and operational needs within our organization. Specifically, we oversee the management of Waikato districtlevel data assets and the underlying data platforms. As such, we bear the primary responsibility of ensuring the consistent availability of data to support daily operations.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Design and implement data pipelines for efficient data delivery.
  • Develop and maintain data warehouses to ensure robust data storage and retrieval.
  • Create and enhance reporting artifacts to provide valuable insights.
  • Address and troubleshoot incidents related to reporting and data issues promptly.
  • Effectively manage customer expectations regarding service delivery related to data and reporting.

Skills and experience you'll need to be considered for the role: - Minimum three years of experience utilizing the Microsoft BI Tool Set, including SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.


  • Proficient in SQL with a focus on managing large Enterprise databases.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in C# or Python scripting is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Snowflake and Dbt is considered highly desirable.
  • Ability to adapt and learn emerging data technologies independently is a strong asset.

  • The BI Team is responsible for providing the data and at some instances Enterprise Level reporting to the wide Waikato hospital. We use various BI Tool Sets to extract/transform/load data from various integrated or disparate systems across the hospital to formulate reporting solutions. With the inception of Te Whatu Ora our role and involvement has also expanded in serving the Te ManaWa Taki region and at times at a national level. Hence, this is a very exciting time.
