This new position will require a dynamic individual who will be a key part in leading our Distribution Division with strategic vision and hands-on leadership.

To ensure success in your team, your main responsibilities would be:

Drive Product Strategy:Analyse Steel & Tube's market position and strategy, leading product selection and range for efficiency and profitability. Manage the product life cycle, identifying customer-centric product ranges, setting sales goals, managing slow moving inventory and collaborating with Sales and Customer Service teams.

Revenue and Margin Growth: Lead revenue and margin growth strategies for Distribution product ranges, driving sales as a support as well as building relationships with key customers and GP growth, optimising pricing and inventory management. Increase profitability through pricing strategies, providing input into sales and marketing strategies for volume growth, and developing product training and support programs.

Lead Product Support Strategy and Team: With a small but dedicated team of product managers and specialists, you'll provide product support to our Sales and Customer Service Teams, managing both internal and marketplace technical support needs. Your responsibilities include ensuring teams have access to technical advisors and training materials, as well as facilitating relationships for Product Specialists to enhance their understanding.

Consolidated Sales Forecast Process: Ensure accurate Sales forecast planning for each product category by consolidating data from relevant sources such as Sales and Project Teams. You'll continuously improve forecasting accuracy and collaborate with Senior and Operational teams.

Collaborate and Support Procurement Team: Working closely with the procurement team you will ensure that all forecasting, range and inventory strategies are executed to maximise return of funds invested.

You will have the following qualities & skills:

  • Demonstrated expertise in steel or related supply industries with appropriate product knowledge.
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts for staff at all levels, coupled with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proven track record in understanding and meeting customers' needs, while delivering value and ensuring financial viability.
  • A diplomatic demeaner and persuasive personality, respected by peers and industry professionals.
  • Ability to identify and execute opportunities for maximising product margin returns on inventory investments.
  • Experience in developing and executing successful product plans and leading successful change programs to align with business strategy.
