The Role:

This role has become available due to internal progression of the previous incumbent.

The Works Planner reports into the South Island Regional Manager and is central to the successful delivery of our maintenance contract with Transpower.

You will work with 5 Downer field staff and 5 key stakeholders at Transpower to schedule work for 75 substations across the South Island.


The role needs to:

Ensure smooth operations so that we meet Transpower's schedule work plan.

You will ensure all forward works, both planned and unplanned works are scheduled, communicated and managed with both Downer field staff and the client's financial and works management systems.

Liaise with Sub-Contractors to understand pricing for work.

Responsible for invoicing.

Plus, monitoring and controlling costs from both internal and from subcontractors and suppliers making sure it is in line with the expectations in the contract.

Maintain administrative functions for the contract.

This is a full time, permanent role Monday to Friday. We are flexible with start times.

About You:

Offering best in class organisational skills, showing sound judgement and a professional approach, you will also be able to offer:
Strong MS Office skills and confidence with Excel is desirable

Knowledge of JDE, Maximo or similar ERP/Accounting software is desirable

Knowledge of NZ Building Compliance is advantageous but not essential

Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to work with confidence and assertiveness

Ability to work unsupervised demonstrating independence and drive - taking on full ownership of your responsibilities

Team player who supports and actively works towards achieving the team goals


As a natural relationship builder, you will also be skilled at communicating effectively with a variety of people to get what you need to meet your deadlines.
