Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Our People Division's customer promise is "Genuine Engagement through Values-Based Connections" and we work across the Ministry with the goal of creating "A happy, healthy and high performing community, for all".
Working in our high profile, global organisation, and striving to achieve this goal keeps us all pretty busy - and we have a lot of activity that sits across each of our Division's functions in terms of strategy, planning and support.
This team will provide operational support to the Chief People Officer, People Division Leadership Team and all staff in the five functional teams of our Division.
- people strategy
- prioritisation
- functional performance reporting (including coordinating responses to OIAs and WPQs)
- governance support and administration
As a Senior Adviser in this team you will be responsible for:
- enabling clear, coherent, employee centric HR Policy through the creation and 'ownership' of the strategic HR Policy architecture
- providing support to the full range of services provided by the Business Enablement team.
This will be an incredibly varied and delivery focused role in which you will have a unique view of the inner workings of our People Division's many functions and business management processes.
For more detail you can view a copy of the position description here
The appointment range for this role is $101,621 to $137,487 total remuneration including employer contribution to kiwisaver - negotiable depending on experience.
We'd like to hear from you if you are a customer focused and action oriented HR professional with the following:
- Experience in a range of HR and/or project management disciplines
- Experience in drafting and implementing HR policy
- Experience in either communications, budget management or strategic planning
- A track record of building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey information logically and concisely to a broad range of people, and to quality assess others writing, offering valued feedback
- Strong collaboration and relationship building skills
Ideally you will also have a good understanding of tikanga (Māori customs and protocols), with the ability to weave te ao Māori (the Māori worldview) into your work.
If you are just starting on this journey that's OK too - as long as you have a willingness to learn and a desire to develop your cultural capability.
