New Zealand Certified Builders Association (NZCB) represents small to medium sized residential builders. They offer a range of services to members to set them and their businesses up for success.

In line with its newly agreed strategy, NZCB is seeking to appoint an Education and Events Manager who will lead the development and delivery of a range of education offerings, which includes carpentry roles post apprenticeship completion, and a suite of Business 101 courses and workshops.

This education programme will be developed in conjunction with an NZCB member working group with broader construction sector input.

What you will do

In this role, you will:

  • Colead the development of a clear post apprentice carpentry career pathway and a suite of 'Business 101' workshops that deliver value for member segments
  • Take the lead on content and event logistics for the annual NZCB conference, working with an external provider to deliver a relevant, thought provoking and educational mustattend event
  • Maintain highly effective relationships with the NZCB's 22 regions, working alongside them to ensure high quality events are delivered to NZCB members across the country
  • Be part of the executive leadership team, taking an 'all of NZCB' view to deliver the strategic plan and cement a dynamic and open culture.

You'll enjoy and be successful in this role if you:

  • Have extensive experience developing and delivering industry education initiatives, preferably for an industry or trade association
  • Have a track record of producing highquality industry events and conferences
  • Have a proven track record of developing and maintaining relationships with, and developing the trust and confidence of colleagues and stakeholders
  • Are innovative with a high level of energy, are a strategic thinker, and have the ability to deliver.

New Zealand Certified Builders Association (NZCB) is a membership organisation that represents Small to Medium Enterprises (SME) builders that operate in the residential building market.

Since its incorporation in 1998, NZCB's key point of differentiation is that members must be trade qualified in carpentry.

With 2,300 Business Members and 400+ Individual Members nationwide, NZCB represents a key construction sector demographic.

NZCB has an engaged board and has recently appointed a Chief Executive from within the construction sector, the combination of both setting a platform for NZCB's visibility, influence, and membership value proposition to be raised.
