We're looking for Team Managers to lead our teams at our brand new purpose built Distribution Centre in Ruakura, due to open in September this year.

The DC will run two shifts - approx. 6 am - 2 pm and 2 pm - 10 pm each week day. As a Team Manager, you will be employed to work either the AM or PM shift. Some Saturday work may be required during busy periods.


Commencing in this role in late July, you'll join a team focused on bringing a great team culture in a new environment to life.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced existing Distribution Centre Team Leader to take a step up and be a part of the foundation team for this exciting new Kmart operation.


What you'll be doing

  • Hands on, physical floor leadership of a team assigned to a specific area within the DC, such as Receiving, Pick/Pack, AMR, Manual and Dispatch
  • Managing Team Members workload, task delegation and completion, performance, reward and recognition
  • Setting targets for the area for each shift, in line with Kmart priorities and wider DC KPI's
  • Training team members
  • Driving, enhancing and correcting performance of team members
  • Ensuring strict site safety procedures are adhered to by the team
  • Identifying areas for improvement and initiating change to processes within your team
  • Performing physical tasks in your area of responsibility to ensure targets are met.

To be successful in this role you'll have:

years of distribution centre experience, with experience in leading a small team

  • Experience in setting goals and team KPIs and leading people to achieve
  • Knowledge of warehousing and distribution best practise
  • Great relationship building, communication and teamwork skills
