Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The Associate Charge Nurse Manager/ Associate Team Leader for the Central South Sector

  • Is based in Central Hamilton.
  • Will report to the Charge Nurse Manager and work within a multidisiplinary team which includes Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Psychiatrists, Doctors and Nursing staff.
  • Will be a role which is challenging and diverse and you will enhance your leadership capability.
  • Provides clinical leadership to the team as delegated by the Charge Nurse Manager.
  • Will not be required to do any weekend work and will be Monday to Friday 84.30pm
  • Key responsibilities of the role:
  • To work with the Charge Nurse Manager to support and lead a well functioning mental health and addictions community team.
  • To be aware of the need to achieve health equity for our diverse communities, especially for Māori, pacific and disabled and other groups who currently have poorer outcomes.
  • To be committed to understanding the needs of the communities that we work in and building networks within them.
  • To have sound decision making skills especially in high pressure situations.

  • Skills and experience you'll need to be considered for the role:
  • You must hold current registration and a practicing certificate with a health professional body.
  • You will need to demonstrate significant clinical experience in Mental Health and Addictions, ideally within the community setting.
  • A current full drivers licence.
  • Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action.

  • With tāngata whaiora/service users based both locally and rurally this role provides an exciting opportunity to work closely with the communities in which people live and support better outcomes. The Central South team covers the southern half of urban Hamilton out to Raglan on one side and then out to Matamata via Cambridge including Waharoa on the other side. You will work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality, and evidence based mental health and addictions support.
