The Opportunity
We have an exceptional opportunity available for a driven and ambitious sales professional to spearhead growth and nurture vital partnerships with rural affiliates in the Canterbury region. Despite our strong brand presence, there is ample room for expanding within this diverse territory and forming enduring relationships.
On a day-to-day basis, your role will involve supporting our dealer network and end-users through sales and technical assistance. However, this position goes beyond the traditional Territory Manager role. You will also focus on expanding the region strategically by networking, forging alliances, and organizing events to bolster our brand recognition.
The Fit
We are seeking an individual who is eager to take on challenges and is enthusiastic about engaging with farmers firsthand to understand their requirements thoroughly, thus facilitating complete hardware and software solutions. This role is ideal for a strategic problem solver who derives gratification from offering the best product solutions rather than just making a sale.
You must possess the ability to connect with a wide customer base as you build relationships with local farmers, retail sales staff, farm managers, farm proprietors, and corporate farms. Crucially, you should have the acumen to pitch the vision of digital farming convincingly to our clientele.
Moreover, you should also possess:
- Proven track record in sales (knowledge of the agricultural sector and experience in selling hardware and software would be advantageous).
- Experience in business development and formulating strategic sales strategies.
- Robust business acumen, proficiency in handling relations with key customers and dealers/resellers.
- Comprehensive digital knowledge, including familiarity with cloud-based solutions, and the ability to convey technical information effectively.
- A proactive attitude with a determination for success and a zeal for achieving results.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills (experience in delivering presentations and organizing events would be beneficial).
- Familiarity with and interest in Te Ao Māori, along with experience in collaborating with local iwi.
