Wellington, Wellington, New Zealand New Zealand Government Full time
Mō te tūnga | About the role

As the Audit Intelligence Analyst, you'll work collaboratively in a close-knit and supportive team of three, within the Audit Intelligence team.

In this role, you'll contribute to the delivery of high-quality data-led assurance services for the NZDF, and get an inside view of the military.

You could be working on specific assignments for Audit Intelligence or the Internal Audit team, assist with fraud investigations, and other duties such as:

  • Testing data to assist with data driven audits;
  • Analyse data and data sets and provide meaningful insights; and
  • Recommend solutions to identified issues and anomalies.
You'll have training and development opportunities available to you, as well as support for your progression.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience
You'll be a data driven, experienced analyst who uses data and data sets to tell the story.

You'll have excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical information into clear, concise and easy to understand information, and bring strengths in relationship building.

We're looking for someone with a curious mind who will dig into things, has a high attention to detail and uses their initiative.

Key skills and experience we're looking for includes:

  • Proficiency in computer programs including Excel, Access, Power Query and Power Pivot;
  • Commitment to continuing professional development;
  • A passion for continuous improvement and business excellence.

We're undergoing a period of transformation at the moment, to shift to a modernised analytical environment, so a good understanding of technologies to interrogate data and to improve internal controls, e.g.

SQL, Power BI, R, Python, ACL, Power Automate, and Power Apps is highly desirable.
Experience within an audit environment or an understanding of audit is preferred, but not necessary.
Mō mātou | About Us

As a modern, professional military, it is our goal to maintain well trained, equipped and disciplined armed forces that can react to crisis at short notice.

Nōu te rourou | What's in it for you
