Manaaki Whenua is New Zealand's Crown Research Institute (CRI) for our land and environment.

We are responsible for supporting New Zealand to develop a sustainable relationship with our land, through the delivery of exceptional science across a wide range of disciplines.


Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

The purpose of this role is to provide effective support to the wider People and Culture team, ensuring that our processes are designed and implemented with a customer focus, utilising technology while meeting policy, procedures, and legislative requirements. The role provides support to leaders on operational People and Culture activities through the employee lifecycle, including sourcing and selection, onboarding and offboarding. The role also works alongside the People and Culture Business Partners to support the achievement of strategic initiatives. The position also provides day to day People and Culture administration, coordination of changes in employment details and liaison with Payroll.

This position is permanent and full time (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday). The position reports to the People and Culture Manager. Whilst our main office is based at Lincoln, we do support a flexible working environment, with requests for both informal and formal flexible work arrangements given due consideration.

Ō pūmanawa - About you
You will be a strong administrator, with an eye for detail, who can confidently work across multiple systems.

You will be a self-starter, who can prioritise time to ensure work is completed to deadlines and to service level agreements.

Though previous human resource experience is desired, we are happy to provide training and upskilling to the right individual so they can in time provide support and advice on a range of People and Culture services.
