Te Au Reka - Improving access to justice for all New Zealanders

Te Au Reka represents the opportunity of a lifetime, making a profound difference to those who work in, and interact with, courts and tribunals.

This new digital case management system will help modernise the administration of justice in Aotearoa New Zealand. It will replace highly manual, time-consuming, paper-based processes, transforming the way people access and experience justice in New Zealand.
Te Au Reka is a large, complex and unique programme, spanning courts and tribunals nationwide. In delivering Te Au Reka we're challenging traditional norms in search of more innovative ways of working. We explore, learn and adapt to overcome hurdles and take advantage of opportunities.

Te whiwhinga mahi/The Opportunity
The Delivery Manager is a very influential role in the Te Au Reka Digital and Information workstream.

This role is responsible for providing support for the initial design and development of the Te Au Reka solution, and then for ongoing operational management, delivery and leadership.

As the Delivery Manager, you will lead a cross-functional team to ensure the delivery of Te Au Reka meets required programme outcomes and delivers value to our customers.

To achieve this, you will work closely with your team to determine priorities and deliverables, manage budgets, risks and issues, and identify trends, gaps and opportunities for improvement including areas, to develop capability and improve system efficiencies.

He pūkenga tou/Skills and Experience

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Strong people management skills, with experience leading technology professionals and teams in a business context.
  • Experience leading teams in Agile, Continuous Delivery and/or DevOps contexts.
  • Experience leading a culture of collaboration and crossfunctional integration.
  • Experience building customercentric products and services to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Experience using workforce planning to enable effective and efficient delivery of programme outcomes.
  • Sound financial management knowledge including operational budgets to meet organisational goals.
  • The ability to communicate a range of complex issues to a wide range of audiences.
  • The ability to build and maintain a range of effective business relationships within an organisation and with a wide network of professionals across organisations.
  • A sound understanding of the constitutional principles and legal processes that underpin the New Zealand justice system is preferred.
  • A sound understanding of the machinery of government (Ministers offices, ministerial and government processes).

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role is between $122,745 and $171,640 based on skills and experience.
