Wellington, one FTE permanent role (full-time is 38 hours per week).

  • We are looking for a team player who enjoys navigating dynamic spaces and providing succinct advice to a broad range of stakeholders
  • With your strength in collating and analysing information and liaising with various working groups, you will be actively contributing to improving outcomes for Wāhine/Kōtiro Māori
  • As part of the role, you will develop and maintain good working relationships with people across the Ministry, and other Government departments we deliver excellent service for the Mana Wāhine Inquiry
Mō Manatū Wāhine - About Manatū Wāhine

Manatū Wāhine Ministry for Women is the Government's principal advisor on improving the lives of wāhine women and kōtiro girls in Aotearoa New Zealand.

We provide system leadership, working across government and with stakeholders to improve outcomes for wāhine women and kōtiro girls.
Our people are crucial to achieving the strategic outcomes we are seeking.

We are looking for an experienced professional with a proven track record of delivery to join our team and help us deliver for wāhine women.

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi - About this role

The purpose of this role is to provide high quality timely advice and services for the Mana Wāhine Kaupapa Inquiry team, Joint Research Committee (JRC) and Crown-agency working groups.

This includes managing and drafting responses to all key stakeholders within the inquiry.

You will work with Manatū Wāhine kaimahi, stakeholders, and other agencies to scope requests, assess relevant information, create clear expectations around timeframes and deadlines for management of research projects.

You will support the development of innovative and progressive practice across all aspects of the team responsibilities, including identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement, leading the end-to-end delivery of work.

This position will also have the opportunity to contribute to work across the Ministry's key outcome areas, which focus on issues of importance for New Zealand women and contribute to specific projects in our work programme as required.

For this role you will have:

  • commitment to improving the lives of all wāhine women and kōtiro girls
- experience in a public service environment and a strong understanding of the machinery of government
- strong planning and reporting experience, and some familiarity with project management, performance monitoring and information management
- excellent communication, influencing and relationship management skills
- awareness of, and sensitivity to, the cultural values and particular needs of wāhine and kōtiro Māori; and
- an understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and their implications for public service operations.
