This is your opportunity to join Kaitaiki o Ara/SADD as a Programme Delivery Lead, working directly with passionate young leaders, secondary schools, youth organisations and community partners.


You will be tasked with delivering the programme in Upper South Island secondary schools and youth organisations by facilitating new and existing student-led groups, building new relationships, and maintaining community connections in an effective, impactful, and sustainable way.

We are looking for a team player who is approachable and flexible, has an affinity for youth, and who has the following qualities:

  • Experience working with young people and an understanding of youth issues,
  • Ability to inspire change
  • Ability to think outside the box and problem solve
  • A positive, enthusiastic and motivated mindset
  • Are proactive, persistent, and confident in establishing new connections
  • The ability to be creative and try new ways to engage rangatahi
  • Exceptional relationship building and communication skills
  • An understanding and appreciation for Tikanga Māori, and ability to speak some te reo will be an advantage
  • Experience in facilitation and public speaking
  • Flexibility and availability to travel when required
  • Full, clean drivers licence and safe driving values is essential
  • Compliant with covid19 education mandate as required
Experience is desirable but not essential. We are looking for someone who can engage confidently and naturally with rangatahi. We are looking for the right person to join our positive and enthusiastic team.

It would be an advantage if you have experience in the following areas social media, Te Reo Māori, resource creation, design/creative arts, and/or facilitation and event coordination.


If you can carry your enthusiasm and ability to work around problems into the youth environment - then we want to hear from you.

This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months to cover a period of parental leave.

The role is based in Christchurch, working with schools, youth organisations and community partners from Canterbury, West Coast, Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough, starting mid-May 2023.

There is flexibility of hours to suit the right applicant.
