Vital to our South Island operations, this is a newly created position within Cardinal. Our current growth strategy is in motion and we are looking for a true leader that will develop and enable our South Island team to be high performing and exceed expectations.

- Overseeing our end-to-end supply chain management model through all South Island Operations divisions; Containers, Warehousing and Transport.
- Building, empowering and leading a high performing team of leaders.
- Implementing continuous improvement opportunities that balance and optimise profitability, customer service levels, Health and Safety compliance and overall productivity.
- Understanding personal development requirements for key roles and people to develop internal talent. Oversee and lead a development program to meet these identified requirements.
- Responding to changes in customer activity levels ensuring we are maximising revenue and customer satisfaction
- Building employee engagement and ensure staff turnover remains at a manageable level.
- Demonstrating a clear and consistent commitment to Cardinal’s purpose, values and behaviours through positive leadership.
- increasing devanning performance, improve put-away times, improve picking times, reduce despatch times, enhance delivery times and optimise cost efficiency.
- Working with Senior Leaders to create an environment that thrives on the framework put in place, always looking for opportunities for continuous improvement.

About you:

- 10+years experience in General Management in Logistics Operations
- Able to think strategically and see the big picture
- Prepared to get on the tools, someone who is willing to "do", not just strategise
- Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships
- Highly adaptable, possessing excellent organisational, problem solving and prioritising ability.
- Able to communicate highly. analytical and commercial information in an easy to understand manner.
- Ability to analyse risk and develop mitigation strategies for the business
