The opportunity


As the Event Operations Manager, you'll be leading and managing a team of event operators and seasonal staff responsible for providing logístical and operational support to civic, local and regional events and festivals.

We run a diverse range of free events across the city including Movies in Parks, Music in Parks, Auckland CultureFest and more.

These are focused on the community and giving Aucklanders' a fun and enjoyable experience.

You'll be planning resource and staff requirements, equipment and vehicle deployment and scheduling event calendar bookings.

We need efficient leadership not only to organise our equipment but also to manage the logistics of setting the events up on site up and running to time.


This is a full-time role, and due to the variable scheduling of the live events, weekend work will be required particularly during the summer months.

About you


Good geographic knowledge of the Auckland region is desirable as well as strong communication skills to work alongside community groups, event organisers and local boards.

You will also enjoy working autonomously as well as in a team.


This would suit someone with a sense of humour who enjoys physical work, as part of this role will involve some lifting.


You will also have:

  • Full clean drivers' license
  • Preferably able to drive a manual transmission
  • Manual handling experience
  • Have strong attention to detail
  • Be proactive to take on the responsibility of making sure things happen
  • Scheduling/rostering experience
