About the role


As a Kairuruku - Foundation Education and Vocations, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for the national management and support of the assigned Foundation Education and Vocations programme(s).


Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide on-going, needs based support to Kaimahi Ako and all relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with programme approval and accreditation.
  • Establishing alignment with Te Wānanga o Aotearoa values and strategic objectives.
  • Teach marau as required.

About you


We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about education, has a passion for fostering growth, has a collaborative mindset, and strong communication skills.


You will also bring with you the following:

  • Masters or Bachelors of equivalent qualification in relevant discipline.
  • NZ Certificate in Adult & Tertiary Teaching (Level 5) (or equivalent)
  • NZ Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education (Level 5)
  • NZ Certificate in Assessment Practice (Level 4)
  • Vocational/Workplace educator
  • 5 years' experience in the NZ Education Sector.
  • 5 years' experience teaching experience.
  • Experience in effectively contributing to the organisational moderation of assessment in the New Zealand tertiary educator sector.
  • Proven experience in engagement in Mātauranga Māori or indigenous knowledge fields preferable


As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.
