About the role:

You are part of the Support Services Group and you report to the Logistics & Warehouse Supervisor. This team is responsible for supporting LIC to deliver on the promise we make to our customers.

Support Services is made up of Risk Management, Strategic Procurement, Company Secretariat and Legal, Business Performance, Finance, Master Data, and Financial Analysis and Reporting.

Your role is responsible for owning the daily inwards and outwards goods operations engaging best logistics practices for LIC. Identify and manage improved processes and disperse best practice activities throughout the broader business. General housekeeping, cycle counting, dangerous goods handling and query resolution will also be expected.

Key Focus and Responsibilities:

  • Inwards goods receiving and receipting, picking, packing and despatch of goods
  • Duties related to the control of inventory, including SAP computer system
  • Identify and manage improved processes and best practice activities throughout the broader business
  • Work with your team to achieve a high standard of DIFOT (Delivered In Full On Time)
  • Receive and sort mail and small parcels, and hand over to reception for internal distribution and to assist with large mail outs and other mail room duties.
  • Store goods in an approved manner
  • Handle associated routine paperwork and ensure inventory control systems are kept uptodate
  • Deliver via forklift, bulk orders throughout site as required

Your Skills:

  • An understanding of Inventory and Stock Taking will be an advantage
  • Must be computer literate (experience with SAP would be an advantage)
  • Good communication skills
  • Must have a proactive approach to challenges and problems
  • Current driver's license
  • Fork Lift Licence and Operational Courses of safe Forklift Operation an advantage.
  • Positive Team based attitude
