As the Head of Vertical Capital Delivery, you will be the driving force behind our ambitious capital delivery strategies, responsible for leading the delivery of the Council's community and metropolitan facilities capital programme.

Our projects cover a broad range extending from facilities that have regional and national significance to community buildings and pools, to heritage restoration projects.


About the role:

Playing a pivotal role in the continuing regeneration of Christchurch, you will:

  • Lead a team of dedicated project managers.
  • Ensure employees, contractors and stakeholders have clarity over responsibilities and expectations in line with project objectives, budgets, outcomes and processes.
  • You'll be monitoring and reporting on the delivery of these key projects, including to Councillors. You will closely monitor risks and will mitigate and manage these.
  • You'll foster a collaborative working relationship both within Council and with external partners and stakeholders.

About you:

To be successful in this role you will be strategically focused on customer and community outcomes at the forefront, as well as:

  • Have at least 10 years of industry experience with 7 years of those in a leadership role within a similar organisation.
  • A proven track record of successfully engaging internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in managing multiple complex programmes at any one time.
  • Previous experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong working knowledge of Christchurch City Council and the local government legislative framework.
