Due to a recent internal appointment, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced operational professional to join the Operations team.

With a new title of Head of Logistics & Operations Planning (previously National Logistics Manager), this is a great opportunity for someone looking for a new challenge.

With a strong focus on "transforming while performing", this role will ensure effective performance and delivery within the existing operational network while creating and developing opportunities for efficiency and optimisation across the supply and operational planning process.

With a particular emphasis on the utilisation of technology, this role will focus on continuous improvement and will create and lead operational change.

Working closely with key stakeholders, this role will support the wider Ravensdown team with the goal of reshaping the agricultural industry through smarter farming for a better New Zealand.

This role will play a fundamental part in improving and optimising the operational network to ensure the business is set up to deliver the future needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Logistics & Operational Planning will lead a small team of three direct reports and two indirect reports.

  • Support the growth of the operations network and Ravensdown as a whole, through the creation and development of operational strategies and efficient and effective planning.
  • Develop, enhance and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Optimise the supply and operational planning process through the creation of efficiencies and streamlining of processes.
  • Lead and deliver change across the wider operations network.
  • Support the commercial and financial growth of Ravensdown with particular emphasis on strong margin and working capital.
  • Ensure performance and delivery of daytoday business activities in relation to logistics, scheduling, shipping, distribution, and inventory control are effective and meeting strategic goals and customer needs.
Ideal Skills & Experience:
  • Tertiary qualification in a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in a senior leadership position.
  • A minimum of 10 years' operational experience.
  • Extensive supply chain planning experience, including across a diverse and geographically spread supply chain.
  • Excellent communications and collaboration skills.
  • Strong ability to negotiate and influence at all levels.
  • High degree of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to deliver superior outcomes.
  • Strong supplier management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A curious mindset with the ability to seek out areas for improvement.
