***In this role you will:
  • Bring your broad range of communication skills, experience, creativity and enthusiasm with initiative and a can
  • do attitude.
  • Provide strategic and practical communications and engagement support to the Chief Executive and senior leaders.
  • Plan, manage and deliver external and internal communications to support annual and strategic plans and priorities.
  • Build the brand profile and reputation of Te Rito Maioha as a leader in early childhood and teacher education.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and support the organisation's advocacy for early childhood education with government, agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Manage proactive and reactive media activity.
  • Write and produce, articles, newsletters, web and social media content, corporate documents, ministerial briefings and internal communications content.
  • Support events, including 60th anniversary celebrations and conference.
  • Proactively establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with teams across the organisation to deliver daytoday communications support and guidance.

(About You):

***We are looking for:
  • A personable self
  • motivated team player who is good at building relationships.
  • 5+ years' senior generalist communications experience.
  • Strong writing, editing and oral communications skills.
  • Knowledge of, and commitment to, Te Tiriti o Waitangi with openness and ability to support a bicultural kaupapa.
  • A strong understanding of the machinery of government.
  • Sound media networks.
  • Confidence to provide senior counsel and engage with people at all levels.
  • Experience creating digital content.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
