As a Council Member of the Waikato A&P Association, you will collaborate with fellow members to guide the strategic direction and initiatives of the organisation. This entails participating in regular monthly meetings, where you will contribute insights, ideas, and feedback to support the association's mission and objectives.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing input and guidance on organizational strategy, policies, and programs.

• Actively participating in council meetings, contributing constructively to discussions and decision-making processes.

• Engaging with stakeholders, including members, sponsors, and community groups, to build strong relationships and support collaboration.

• Advocating for the interests of the agricultural and pastoral sector, both within the association and in broader forums.

• Supporting fundraising efforts and resource mobilization initiatives to sustain the association's operations and projects.
As a Council Member, you will have the opportunity to leverage your expertise, passion, and networks to make a meaningful impact on the agricultural community in the Waikato region. Your dedication and leadership will contribute to the ongoing success and growth of the Waikato A&P Association.

Requirements:


• Passion for agriculture, rural affairs, and community development.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

• Commitment to the mission and values of the Waikato A&P Association. Knowledge of the agricultural industry, including current trends, challenges, and opportunities, is desirable but not essential.

• Willingness to actively participate in council meetings, events, and other association activities. - Availability to serve a term of office, typically spanning a few years.

Time commitment:

Council Members are expected to attend regular meetings, which typically occur monthly or as scheduled by the association.
Additionally, involvement in events, outreach activities, and other initiatives may require varying time commitments based on the association's calendar of activities.
On average, Council Members can anticipate dedicating approximately 4-6 hours per month to fulfil their duties effectively.
