We are looking for a Project Officer to join our International Programmes Team who is highly organised and an energetic team player.

You will be effective at building great working relationships and have the capability to use these skills to connect with people across New Zealand and the Pacific.

You will have sound judgement and critical thinking skills in order to establish and manage project work in the international programmes unit.


Family Planning's International Programmes team works closely with partners in the Pacific to improve access to sexual and reproductive health information and services through locally driven projects, research and advocacy.

This role is based in our National Office located in Wellington, with international travel as required.

This is a full time, permanent role offering an exciting and dynamic opportunity to make a difference in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights, in an international development context.


We would love to consider you for the role if you have the following:

  • Commitment to the principals of Te Tiriti ō Waitangi and Family Planning's philosophy and values.
  • The ability to effectively manage all phases of the project life cycle including implementation, financial management, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Experience managing clinical health projects or working in a clinical health setting.
  • Experience in donor liaison, proposal writing and budget development.
  • Strong written and communication skills, particularly crossculturally.
  • The ability to catalyse and manage collaborations with external stakeholders.
  • Selfmotivated, wellorganised and possesses good time management skills.
  • Knowledge of sexual and reproductive health and rights issues.
  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in development studies, clinical or public health or another relevant field.
