As a Kaitūhono within our upcoming Contact Centre, you will be the first point of contact for whānau, delivering phone-based support and guidance.

With a warm and welcoming demeanor, you will connect with whānau to establish their unique needs and ensure that they have access to right services, at the right time.

Your listening skills will be put to the test as you tautoko whānau through complicated matters, ensuring mana is upheld with each korero.

An understanding of government services, is required to provide the utmost level of support. You will be expected to manage both inbound and outbound communications, alongside situations of face-to-face engagement.

Hours of Work
This is fulltime mahi, working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

We do expect some flexibility to muck in when required, as Waipareira adapts to support the needs of the community.


Your Skills & Experience

  • Strong commitment to Te Reo me ōna tikanga.
  • Experience working in customer service/contact centre.
  • Experience working alongside whānau from all walks of life.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fundamental computer skills and confidence speaking on the phone.
  • Ability to listen, think on your feet, and answer whanau queries.
  • Ability to identify complex situations and create referrals for support.
