The Abuse in Care Royal Commission of Inquiry (the Royal Commission) was established in 2018 to investigate the experiences of tamariki, rangatahi and vulnerable adults in State and faith-based care between 1950 and 1999.
It is due to provide its final report and recommendations late March 2024.The Crown Response Unit was set up in February 2019.
Our work is overseen by social and justice sectors Chief Executives, under the Ministerial leadership of the Minister for Public Services.
We lead the Crown's response to the Royal Commission, in collaboration with other agencies.We support government agencies get information and records to the Royal Commission in a timely and helpful way. We also support the Crown to respond to the Royal Commission's interim reports, including its interim report on redress. The report recommended creating a new, independent, trauma-informed, holistic redress system, which the Government has agreed to do. The redress work programme is a primary focus of the Crown Response Unit.
Mō te tūnga | About the role
Reporting to the Director, Crown Response Unit, we are looking for an experienced Executive Assistant to provide an exceptional level of administration support.
Your strength in keeping things organised and on track will see you succeed in this role along with your inherent ability at looking ahead at the bigger picture.
You are someone who is able to pre empt situations that could impact on the smooth day to day running of the busy Director, this is where your outstanding problem solving skills will come into play.
Along with being well skilled in all of the general duties of an Executive Assistant such as diary management, booking of meetings, finessing of presentations and more, you will be someone who has excellent communication skills, you will have no difficulty in adapting your messaging to get your point across in the most appropriate way.
You are also someone who is happy to turn their hand to anything that is required of them from organising staff events to onboarding of new team members - nothing is ever too much trouble and you are able to do this with the upmost of efficiency, sometimes at a moments noticeThe CRU are an extremely passionate team and really believe in what the unit have been set up to achieve, if you have an interest in social justice, this will be the perfect fit for you.
