Reporting to the Manager Client Service Delivery this leadership role will see the successful applicant working between the Te Kuiti and Taumarunui offices.

The role takes responsibility for the client facing operational leadership and management of our Service Centre.

You'll have oversight of our people to ensure our clients are receiving any benefit or support they may be eligible for, and where appropriate, that we are supporting our clients to find sustainable employment.

We know that economic independence affects the health, well-being, and long-term outcomes for families, whānau and communities.

Each of our Managers Client Service Operations, is responsible for ensuring that their team are engaged in supporting a high-performance people centric culture that effectively delivers the range of MSD services and meets current and future demands which align with MSD priorities.

Each Manager Client Service Operations is appointed to the region and may be placed in any one of our service centres.

About you
The nature of this role requires you to have a good understanding of MSD services, products, systems, and policies.

We are looking for a person who chooses to lead by example and encourage their team to look for ways in which they can exceed regional goals.

You will need to be a person who motivates, shares knowledge, supports, coaches, guides, and encourages their team to be the best they can be.

At times, you may be required to support the Manager Client Service Delivery by becoming involved in local and regional projects which require your participation in community activities which support the work undertaken by MSD.

At all times, you will need to professionally represent MSD in a positive way encouraging cooperation and teamwork.
To be considered for this role you will need to be a person with the following experience and attributes:

  • Sound experience as a leader with a successful track record in supporting teams to achieve goals
  • A sound knowledge and understanding of MSD services and support is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to establish, build on and maintain strong relationships across diverse groups of people
  • Experience in developing people to achieve and exceed performance expectations
  • An understanding of change and risk management
  • Experience managing budgets and providing effective ontime reporting is preferred
  • High energy and a strong commitment to supporting team outcomes
  • A tertiary degree or relevant experience which demonstrates your ability to learn and grow
  • Negotiation skills and the proven ability to influence others
  • Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to make sound, logical decisions


In addition to this experience and skill set, we are looking for a person who sees solutions rather than problems and someone who daily motivates their team, generating enthusiasm and loyalty.

We need someone who understands that customer service is the cornerstone of MSD and employment and financial independence are a worthwhile goal for everyone.

Helping clients into learning and/or sustainable work which offers them improved economic outcomes and supporting housing solutions are some of the rewarding moments of this role but there are many more.

We are looking for a leader who can support, build, and encourage a team to exceptional performance which will ultimately build security, health and wellbeing for our families, whānau and communities.

What we offer
Remuneration for this role is from $85,749 to $128,623.

Application along this salary scale is dependent on relevant leadership experience and evidenced skills but is unlikely to be more than the mid-point.

We are looking to fill several permanent roles.
A current full New Zealand licence without restrictions is required.
