To help us on this journey, we are looking for a Waste Planning Advisor to join our team and contribute towards Auckland Council's Waste Management and Minimisation Plan


This is an exciting Fixed Term Full Time opportunity with us due to project work we are rolling out - ending 22nd April 2024.


Reporting to the Waste Planning Manager, as a Waste Planning Advisor, you will manage and analyse waste data and business intelligence and thus provide advice on strategic waste planning issues including the review of waste management and minimisation plans, licensing of waste operators, implementing the Waste Management and Minimisation Plan (WMMP) and Bylaw and other legislative requirements to minimise the adverse impacts of waste throughout the Auckland region.


Day-to-day you could expect to work on:

  • Administering Auckland's waste licencing system
  • Support reporting on compliance with legislative requirements and regulations of all Waste Solutions assets and operations
  • Support the Waste Solutions Unit in reporting to Council Committees, Local Boards, internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to the implementation of the Mana Whenua and Māori engagement strategy

You are a person who is passionate about waste minimisation and delivering excellent Customer service.

You will have developed interpersonal and relationship skills to manage effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

You will come with experience with collection, analysis and reporting of data, including performance indicators, from a variety of sources.
