Are you an experienced Senior Communications Advisor, committed to addressing racism and discrimination and driven to make a difference in the lives of people across Aotearoa? Then let's talk about this opportunity to join our Diversity and Inclusion team

The Diversity and Inclusion team is facilitating the creation of Aotearoa-New Zealand's first
National Action Plan Against Racism. This work is a government priority and is due to be completed by June 2024.

The plan will set out practical steps for the Government to take to end racism and provide guidance for communities, businesses, and institutions to support their own solutions.

The process of developing this plan is as important as the plan itself.

It is being developed in partnership with the National Iwi Chairs Forum and is informed by extensive community and government engagement.

We are seeking applicants from diverse backgrounds who bring a variety of life experiences and skills.

If you have experience as a thoughtful problem solver and work well as part of a team, we want to hear from you.


Ideally, you will:
- have experience with Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Āo Māori
- write well and understand how to communicate with diverse people
- have experience working in partnership with Māori and collaborating with a range of diverse people from broad sectors and backgrounds
- be a proven problem solver and have the confidence to work with complexity and ambiguity

A degree or diploma in communications or a similar discipline would be advantageous but is not a pre-requisite.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $103,540 and $146,174 based on skills and experience.
