We are seeking strong and resilient Mental Health Assistants | Kaimahi Atawhai to join our teams within the Henry Rongomau Bennett Centre.

We are looking for individuals who can support our taangata whaiora and their whaanau during their admission period across our inpatient services.


Maaori are significantly represented across our services, which is why we are moving towards becoming a 'culturally led, clinically underpinned' team.

It is essential, that you have a good understanding of Te Ao Maaori and are able to support our Maaori tangata whaiora through a strong Te Ao Maaori lens.

Delivering excellent care in a culturally responsive manner, to support the best outcomes for Maaori is fundamental to our mahi.


We have a range of opportunities available in our adult acute mental health wards and in our forensic mental health wards that include full time, part time, fixed term and casual positions offering a variety of shift patterns or set days.

Our Mental Health & Addictions teams provide mental health and addictions services to the population of the Waikato district and regional forensic services to the Waikato, Lakes, Taranaki and Bay of Plenty districts.

The Henry Rongomau Bennett Centre is a mental health facility located on Waiora Waikato Hospital campus, Hamilton.
