Wellington, Wellington, New Zealand New Zealand Government Full time
If you are committed to making real change for Aotearoa, Te Puna Aonui might be the place for you.

Mō mātou | About Us
Te Puna Aonui is a small unit, with a big role.

Established as an Interdepartmental Executive Board (IEB) our mandate is to ensure there is clear, joint accountability across government for work relating to the elimination of family violence and sexual violence.

As centre of expertise that stewards the Family Violence and Sexual Violence (FVSV) System and Cross-Agency Strategy, Te Aorerekura, we work in partnership with the communities we serve and always hold survivors, family, and whanau at the centre of everything we do.

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

The System Stewardship Group leads the strategic function, working alongside the Minister, Board and across the FVSV systems to drive collective impact and future evolution of Te Aorerekura, as well as holding a comprehensive view of the system and emerging issues and challenges.

You will champion the effective use of these insights, ensuring they are appropriately used to inform Te Puna Aonui and the wider sector.

With your Team, you will drive the programme of change at a system level, building visibility and collective accountability for Te Aorerekura across the IEB agencies, resulting in meaningful impact for the communities we serve.

The Team also leads strategic communications to ensure we proactively tell stories across the system that support the aspirations of Te Aorerekura.

As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you also have a shared responsibility for ensuring Te Puna Aonui is a well-run unit, with a great culture, that delivers effectively on its role.

This position is also the Deputy Chief Executive for the unit.

Ko wai koe | About you

You have held senior roles in the wider public system where you have been charged with policy, strategy and/or Ministerial Engagement; or in a CE's office.

You are a confident and effective influencer, partnership builder and can manoeuvre effectively even where there is real ambiguity. As the System Champion for our Strategy, you have the intellectual, strategic and emotional smarts to create meaningful shifts. Sound understanding of central government processes is a must, along with a visible commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
