An exciting opportunity has arisen in START, whereby we require a dynamic Charge Nurse Manager to not only lead and manage the existing START teams but also to grow and develop the service.

We have a number of new initiatives that we are about to introduce into to the service, therefore the person we are looking for would also have a passion for change and making a difference to our older people living in the community.

Mō tātou Ratonga | About our Service

START (Supported Transfer and Accelerated Rehabilitation Team) provides and promotes rehabilitation of patients within their home environment for up to 6 weeks, delivering care 7 days per week and up to three times a day.

The START model reduces the pressure on hospital beds through early supported discharge, preventing re-admissions and admission avoidance. START is a strong interdisciplinary team, with three main teams working across the greater Waikato DHB.

The teams consist of a large component of health care assistants that in the most part, deliver the rehabilitation programme.

Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:

Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi

Proven leadership and management skills

Ability to provide clinical support

Experience in leading change and quality improvement initiatives

Minimum of 5 years post registration

Experience working in the community and with older people

Highly effective communication with multiple stakeholders

Ability to support staff to provide excellent clinical care

Demonstrated commitment to customer focused service delivery

Relevant post graduate qualifications

Full New Zealand drivers licence
