We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team as a Librarian in the Ōrākei Local Board. This role is based at Remuera Library but will require flexibility to work across the two sites within the local board, the other being St Heliers Library.

This is a permanent, role of 38 hours per week, requiring flexibility to work weekends and late nights, as our services are open 7 days per week.

In this customer focused role, you will be a senior member of the library team contributing to the day to day running of the library and front-line library service. You will assist with leading the team to offer excellent customer service and enable a great experience for our customers. We want to be known for our outstanding customer service. You will be working closely with our local community through a range of programmes, from supporting and/or delivering exciting learning programmes and activities that are driven by community need, to sharing in the development and leading of children's and teens activities. You will be a champion for technology, supporting staff through training and troubleshooting problems and assisting customers with technical queries, to successfully use devices, and access information resources that are available through the library.

You will have excellent communication skills, energy and enthusiasm, a sound knowledge of library technologies and processes, and an ability to collaborate with team members in the development, implementation and delivery of services and programmes. You will have the natural ability to relate well with people of all ages and backgrounds, together with strong digital and readers advisory skills. Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills will help in this role.

An interest in and knowledge of children's and teenage literature is an advantage.
