**ROLE SUMMARY**:

- We seek an inspiring and enthusiastic person for our school Librarian position. We are looking for someone who is passionate about books and reading and supporting students to share this love of reading. The successful applicant will have strong inter-personal, communication and organisational skills as well as current knowledge of technology and understanding of digital literacy. This is a permanent, term time only position which offers full-time hours, due to commence May 2024. The role involves the management and organisation of our Library and resources and assisting students and teachers with their information needs. The current role also delivers some library lessons to our Primary aged children.**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- To set up and maintain the Library and a welcoming learning environment for all staff and students from ELS through to Y13.
- To promote and display key events and activities to encourage and support reading.
- Provide guidance and assistance to staff and students on the use of the Library databases and the access of information - print or electronic.
- Assist teachers and students in information retrieval, using relevant search programmes and Internet as required.
- Process all service requests.
- Make class visit bookings and liaise with teachers bringing classes into the centre.
- Top up photocopy accounts as required.
- Supervise the Library Homework Club from 3.30-5.00pm from Monday-Friday
- Responsibility for producing the College Yearbook
- Maintain tidy environment - shelving of returns etc.
- Ensuring displays are kept up-to-date and maintained
- Issue and Process book returns.
- Purchase and process new stock as required within the given budget.
- Repair book stock as required.
- Undertake annual stock take as required
- Attend ‘Open Days’ as requested.
