**The opportunity**
Manurewa Community Library is a busy library situated right in the heart of Manurewa. The Manurewa community is young and ethnically diverse with a high proportion of Māori residents. We are a focused and committed team who takes pride in creating a world-class customer experience that is unique to our library.
This senior role provides a stimulating mix of customer service and community liaison. You will have previous experience working in libraries and/or bring experience in the development, implementation and delivery of services and programmes. Because this role involves working with diverse communities, the ability to speak another language is desirable.
**About you**
Your natural ability to relate well to people of all ages and backgrounds, excellent communication, along with strong digital and readers advisory skills is essential. Leadership skills are integral to the role, as you will assist the Community Library Manager with the day-to-day operations within the library and undertake in-charge and supervisory responsibilities as required.
Auckland libraries requires people in a Senior Librarian role to have LIANZA registration and have experience in libraries or related fields.

This is a permanent opportunity working 40 hours per week on a variable schedule. Our library is open six days a week so flexibility around working hours including weekend days and late nights is required.
