Be at the forefront of the public service's recovery efforts from Cyclone Gabrielle and:

  • Help find and mobilise public servants to where they're most needed
  • Work closely with public service recruitment and people teams to attract and recruit people to the public service
  • Facilitate the rapid movement of public servants to address government priorities and enhance individuals' career development.


The Workforce Strategy and Mobility team (through the Workforce Mobility Hub) is playing a significant role in rapidly deploying public servants to respond to the severe weather events impacting much of the North Island.

The team is now looking ahead to how we might attract, recruit and mobilise public servants for the recovery efforts and in non-crisis times too.

This role is responsible for providing strategic and operational support and will:

  • Manage demand requests from agencies seeking surge capacity
  • Source suitable capability from across the public service using a variety of sourcing strategies
  • Actively manage relationships across a variety of rōpū
  • Provide strategic people, recruitment and change management advice and support
  • Coordinate the Recruitment Community of Practice alongside the rōpū steering committee
  • Coordinate the Agency Workforce Leads network on behalf of the Workforce Strategy and Mobility team
  • Undertake daytoday work required to support system level attraction, recruitment and mobility, including the digital service capabilities that enable a modern and agile public service workforce
  • Lead the planning, development and implementation of discrete work items which contribute to achieving the team's outcomes.

This position usually pays between $99,200 to $116,700 depending on skills and experience.
